
Artak Apitonian
Artak Apitonian is a visiting lecturer at the Post-Graduate Department of the Yerevan State University.
During the period of 2018-2021, he has served as a Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, overseeing the multilateral diplomacy, arms control, and public affairs areas. In 2013-2018, Artak Apitonian served as the first resident Ambassador of Armenia to Sweden and Finland. During three decades of his diplomatic career, he has held other leading positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the President, as well as in the diplomatic missions of Armenia in Geneva, Beirut, New York, and Cairo.
Artak Apitonian has a diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
In 2022-2024, Apitonian served as the CEO of The Future Armenian Development Foundation and organized the first Pan-Armenian citizens’ assembly – the Convention of the Future Armenian in March 10-12, 2023. He is a founder and CEO of the “Participatory Democracy” NGO.
